I was born and raised in Melbourne by a Chinese-Malaysian father and an Australian mother. Growing up, pandan was the flavour of my summers visiting family in Malaysia.

Across Southeast Asia, pandan is everywhere — in drinks, desserts and street food. But back in Melbourne’s café scene, it was almost nowhere to be found.

Yum Pandan started with a simple idea: what if pandan could sit alongside matcha and chai on the café menu?

Our pandan latte brings this beloved flavour into modern café culture.

The name Yum Pandan is a play on words — “yum” means to drink in my father’s native Cantonese, and in English it’s what we say when something tastes good.

Our logo is inspired by kueh talam, a pandan dessert I loved growing up.

The elderly woman has short black hair, wearing a patterned blouse. A young girl stands on the left, wearing a white t-shirt with a cartoon character and a dark skirt, holding her shirt. A young boy stands on the right, wearing a black t-shirt and gray shorts, with a caption pointing to him that says, 'That's me'.
